Secrets of the Supernatural: How to Spiritually House-Clean

After deliverance we recommend doing a whole-house cleaning (and when moving into a new house.) If there has been any sort of spiritual activity (other than that of the Holy Spirit) we also recommending cleaning house.

If you pay a mortgage, own it outright, pay rent, or have permission from the owner to occupy the place in which you reside, you have all the authority you need to take dominion over your home. Go from room to room, preferably from one end of the house to the other and from top to bottom. In each room, command any unclean spirits to leave and pray protection over it. Here is a step by step guide on what we do in each room.

Raising Royalty: The Honesty Policy

With my children, I am emulating a policy used in my own family growing up. It was about never keeping secrets. I grew up in a home where we talked about everything, all the time. After growing up and having my own children, I’ve realized why.

Secrets are Trouble

For the most part secrets are trouble and create problems where there may not have been any. It’s like building a porch without support beams. It may hold for a while, but eventually, something is bound to break. Secrets lead to lying, which leads to doing things behind parent’s backs, and hiding those actions. If they can hide small things from us, surely they have the capacity to hide bigger and bigger things, until finally they are teenagers and we have no idea who they are, what their opinions are and they are drifting farther and farther away from us.

Secrets of the Supernatural: Battleground of the Soul

Where is Spiritual Warfare fought?

There are two major supernatural battlefields: the external and the internal.

The External

The external war is, of course, deliverance. When Jesus sent out his buddies, the disciples, he sent them out to cast out demons and heal the sick. This is a battle with the lowest level of demons, the foot soldiers in the army of the kingdom of darkness. (See my previous post on Deliverance.)

The Internal

The internal war is within your soul: your thoughts, beliefs and emotions. This is a daily battle.

Secrets of the Supernatural: The Key to the Supernatural

Regarding the supernatural we tend to be strangers to it all. We’re like these rich kids born to royalty and we are out living in the streets, oblivious to our rightful power. But no one told us we were kings!

Oh sure, I grew up going to church every Sunday—rain or shine or sprained ankle but no one talked about the demons I was seeing in my bedroom. No one talked about deliverance or angelic intervention. So we, like most Christians, grow up ignorant to the supernatural realm.

Secrets of the Supernatural: Deliverance Is Not...

There are many things deliverance will affect, but it's time to be realistic about what it is and what it is not.  (See previous post about what Deliverance Is.)

1. Deliverance is not a magical fix.

2. Deliverance is not behavior modification of attitudes, habits, or addictions.

3. Deliverance is not an exorcism.

4. Deliverance is not about you. It is not about demons. (hint: It's about God.)

Raising Royalty: Color Coded Children

A couple of years ago my husband and I attended a retreat at Bear Creek Ranch where “The Color Code” by Taylor Hartman, Ph.D. was used to profile our personalities. It was interesting to learn so much about myself. I mean, I already knew these things about myself, I just didn’t know that there were so many others that have similar personality patterns. It helped me identify my strengths (The description in the book made me feel pretty good about my particular personality!) and it pointed directly at my limitations. I thought there might be something wrong with me. But the list of limitations helped me understand that I can overcome them--becoming more charactered.

Raising Royalty: To Know Your Kids

When our babes were born, we knew what information was going into their little minds. We knew every word they could say. We knew what scared them, what foods they didn’t like, what people they didn’t like holding them. As they grew, and their personality became set (rumor has it that a child’s personality is pretty much set by age 5) the less I knew or understood what drives them, what their needs are and what motivates them.

Secrets of the Supernatural: Deliverance Is

If demonization is spiritual captivity then we are held prisoner by a supernatural mobster. (See previous post explaining Demonization.)

The way out is through salvation and deliverance. Salvation has always been the easy part. But the deliverance side of things has been left off Christianity's menu for some reason. But when it comes to spiritual warfare, there are two things you need to understand.
