For seventeen-year-old Janie, getting sucked into other people's dreams is getting old. Especially the falling dreams, the naked-but-nobody-notices dreams, and the sex-crazed dreams. Janie's seen enough fantasy booty to last her a lifetime.

She can't tell anybody about what she does they'd never believe her, or worse, they'd think she's a freak. So Janie lives on the fringe, cursed with an ability she doesn't want and can’t control.
Then she falls into a gruesome nightmare, one that chills her to the bone. For the first time, Janie is more than a witness to someone else's twisted psyche. She is a participant.

REVIEW:

This is a charming story about a girl who gets caught in people’s dreams. She gets pulled into other people’s dreams about being naked in a group and no one else notices, about their desires and reliving memories through their dreams. She is struggling to feel normal keeping this secret from everyone until one day she gets sucked into a gruesome nightmare.

This book is only 210 pages and is a very easy read. It is an ALA Quick Pick for Reluctant Young Readers. After reading it in one night, I can see why.

RATING:

I give this book a 3: Good: A pretty good read. It’s a good story about a dream catcher. I liked the main character, Janie. She was believable and I really felt for her and the pain she carried for all her secrets and seeing everyone else’s secrets.

RECOMMENDATIONS:

It is simply written but drops the F-bomb a several times. It’s rather PG-13 for all the talk of nakedness and cuss words. I’m sure if it were a movie, it would merely infer the nakedness. There is also a lesbian in the cast of characters.
